In our busy boisterous world it is difficult to hear the “still soft voice of God”. Prayer is an avenue of communication that enables by grace intimate communication with God that is restorative. It is a holy encounter of spirit with Spirit. Henri Nouwen writes, “In spiritual listening we encounter a God who cannot be fully understood, we discover realities that cannot be controlled, and we realize that our hope is hidden not in the possession of power but in the confession of weakness” (The Long Walk of Faith. P 9). In our acknowledgment of dependence on God we become open to receive God’s blessing and strength.
Take time to pray. Take time to listen.
